Samira (pronounced Samira) is a registered Clinical Psychologist. She completed her undergraduate bachelor’s degree and first-class honours in Psychological Science at Griffith University, along with her Master’s Equivalent and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology. Samira has clinical experience working with children/adolescents, families, and adults in a variety of settings including private, education, hospital, community crisis support, and clinical research. She has interests working with clients across the lifespan and her main areas of specialisation include anxiety and specific phobias, mood disorders, stress and burn-out, interpersonal problems, emotional dysregulation, trauma, grief and loss, and adjustment issues. Samira also conducts diagnostic psychological and cognitive assessments for anxiety and mood disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and learning disorders. She is passionate about research in the areas of mindful parenting, mindfulness and self-compassion skills, and youth’s adjustment and coping, which were the main focus of her PhD research. Samira is empathetic, non-judgmental, and collaborative in her approach to develop treatment plans that meet her clients’ individual needs. She has experience providing individual and group therapy using evidence-based frameworks, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Samira enjoys working with her clients and their support network to bring about positive changes in their lives.
