Samira is a registered psychologist who completed her undergraduate bachelor’s degree and first-class honours in psychological science at Griffith University. She is currently completing her PhD in clinical psychology at the same university. Samira is passionate about research in the area of parenting and child’s adjustment along with mindfulness and self-compassion, which are the main topics of her PhD research. She also has a clinical experience working with children, adolescents, families, and adults in a variety of settings including hospital-based paediatric outpatient unit, health community clinics, and crisis support. Samira has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and their families with various presentations, including stress, anxiety, mood disorders, autism spectrum disorder, attention/hyperactivity problems, obsessive compulsive disorder, emotion dysregulation, trauma, attachment issues, social skills problems, and learning difficulties. Samira is empathetic, non-judgmental, and collaborative in her approach and develops treatment plans that meet her clients’ specific needs. She has experience providing individual and group therapy using evidence-based frameworks, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Samira enjoys working with her clients and their support network to bring about positive changes in their lives.
